A lot of forums these days have a feature where if you hover your mouse over a thread it will show a preview of the post. Usualy the first few lines of the thread.

It would be great if that was implemented here. :D

Please post a link to another site that does this so I may see it in use.

Just noticed the above to examples for vBulletin. I'll see if I can find a phpBB example.

Airhead parts forum does it as well.

Thanks for living up to your title. :P

SO I did some searching and I cant seem to find a solution thats as simple and clean as the vBulletin implementation. :(

Closest thing I found was the thread below. It's way to big and bulky IMO.

It took Jon forever to get off dial up.

He'll come around.... in about 5 years.

Yes, I saw that too but it's a bit much, especially behind the scenes.

I didn't find a turn-key add-on and I'm not sure I want that anyway...

It seems a little bulky/clunky. Anything which might make this site less tight and streamlined is yucky in my book. That is one of its greatest assets. Clean, tight, easy to navigate without a bunch of junk.

I find pop-ups kind of annoying in most cases so unless it also came with a setting where an individual user could turn it on/off, I would probably be against it anyway.

I'd like it as long as the hover box is limited to one line. I don't want a huge pop-up box.

Of course this feature would be unnecessary if people used proper thread titles instead of "I wonder what..." and "Help me".

I find it kind of humurous that a bunch of VW guys are asking for gucci features on their website...next thing, you'll be asking for airbags in your split-window

:-D

btw, I vote no

Does your VW have a Pertronix in it?

nope, points all the way baby...the only thing on mine that wasn't originally offered is a stereo with iPod input, rear speakers, and an SVDA vice a DVDA distributor :-)

EDIT x2: oh, and the rims, 2pc bushings up front and a couple of gauges in the dash :-(

I looked at how they did that and it's really easy but it adds a lot of text to the page behind the scenes. It's sort of annoying too.

ditto -- if I can disable it, OK... otherwise, skip it...
