I'm replacing all the mats in my '73 bus. I've found everything but the mat for the walk-through between the front seats. I've tried all the usual sources, no luck.

Any idea where I can find one?

Uhhhh! that's another thing I saw in the bus that is going to SCRAP at 8am in the morning.... The guy would give it to you, but he's in such a hurry to scrap it. I'll email him, ask him to save it.

Make sure he unscrews the rear heat grille at the back of the walkthrough, it goes underneath and most savages just rip the mat out.

On A scale of 1-10. Hows the quality of this mat? Thickness? Heavyness?
Worth the $44 bucks?

Don't know. I'm on their email list so they send an email everytime they are releasing new items, or sales, etc. I got it right after I read this post and thought I'd share with the brethren. That place sells a lot of hard to find parts. The only thing I've bought from them is the 68-69 only round reflectors. I'd imagine it's similar in quality to other floor mat repros though. Anyone wanna be the guinea pig? :P

No problem. Yeah, I always wondered why nobody ever made repros of those considering the amount of bay window buses that would need them. When I got the email from them a couple of days ago, I was shocked to see it on there! They have a lot of cool stuff for bays on their site. Let us know your review when you order it.

I promised to comment on the eisparts.com walk-thru floor mat.

I ordered and received promptly. Before it arrived I decided to dig back through my stack of bus parts to see if maybe I'd kept the old one for comparison, knowing that it was trashed like the front mat and seat stand mats were. I found it, and it was not trashed. No, it was in remarkably good condition. So I cleaned it up and compared it to the EIS mat when it arrived.

I have to say that EIS did an exceptional job of knocking off the old one. Fit was perfect. Overall look was essentially identical, just no wear. Shy of the VW logo and part number, you'd have trouble telling them apart. Very impressive workmanship.

Is it worth $ 44.00? Compared to the alternative (none), yes. I don't think anyone would be dissappointed.

That said, I'm returning the one I bought. With a 15% restocking charge I'm losing about six bucks plus return freight. If anyone wants a deal I'll let this one go for $ 35.00, you pay shipping from Florida. I'll hang onto it until the end of the week.
