need some help with testing my alternator.
I could possibly have a bad diode, how can I test for this, I'm getting a very frustrating voltage leak that is killing me!
I have tried using a test light between the ground strap and my battery, disconnected everything and it stays lit, checked my battery on a load test all is good. Got some advice regarding perhaps a bad diode on my alternator.....how do I test it? |

| Disconnect the B=wires from alternator and retest. You can also use a lab scope it will have a continuos sine wave if it is good. |

WOOO HOOO found it!
lesson learned...check the damn obvious..
Evidently it turned out to be the dang grounding strap.
Never even thought of it...decided to work my way back until I found it, thankfully it was the first thing I checked! |
