We, meaning Steve, Jerry, David and me Kenny, decided to give up on my '62 Baja Bug project because the floor pan is just to far gone. We picked up a '70 rolling chassis with a clean title to put the '62 body on. I made these two videos showing how easy it is to do a swap like this. We scratched our heads for quite a while before we came up with simply putting the two chassis' side by side and sliding the body across on two pipes coated with dish soap. Nothing to it!

| i always find, that a case of beer, and about four other friends, does the job, lol. we just park the frame right in front of the car, lift the body up a little, and walk it forward, and set it down. it helps to get the motor out first, other wise you'd have to lift the ass end much higher to clear the fan shroud. good job tho, now lets see some action vids    |

Next week I hope to get the body bolts back in and the motor swaped...
Few hours after we got it home the old body is off.

Unfortunately Steve cut that body in two with a sawsall. This is what it looks like at the moment.
Going to install these rear rims and tires on it next
