I dropped the engine of a recent buy and discovered this...
I am novice in this region. Any advice on what to get as far as a pressure plate and clutch? I've noticed there are different sizes etc. The engine is from a Bus I believe and the car is a 72 Baja / Sedan. The car is only going to be used for light off-roading and mostly road use. |

Flywheel clutch surface need cleaning up , maybe professional resurface if you want to go to the effort of removing flywheel....
If Flywheel is for 12 Volt, it will have 130 teeth (most likely) and requires 200 mm clutch assembly...
IF flywheel is for 6 volt system it will have 109 teeth and requires a 180 mm clutch assembly....
Also type of throw out bearing is critical... Early model has no guide sleeve on trans, later model do have guide sleeve... Forks that hold throw out bearing vary again "early model", "late model"...
Early mode pressure plates require ring on pressure plate, later models do not have ring on pressure plate....
Explained more in this document (with visuals) ....

| Red scotch brite pad on a mandrel in a die grinder will clean it right up. |
