That's the CSV, the EGR is the thing with the disconnected lever sticking up at the top of this pic I robbed from the gallery.

swapped out the seals on the injectors. Two o rings on each injector. also checked the injectors spray while i had them out, they sprayed a nice mist so they seem good.
Took the bus on a drive approximately 15 miles 1/2 freeway and 1/2 in town roads. ran really good with the exception of about half way through it died as i came off the freeway. Took about 10 minutes to get it going. while it was on the side of the road i checked and it had good fuel flow, and good spark. moved a louver thats at the top of the engine kinda just above the alternator but up on top then it fired right up. May be coincedence. Other than that the bus ran really good. |

make sure you tune the afm properly at idle with the screw. When you decelerate the decel valve keeps the bus from back firing. The mixture goes way lean. If you have the mixture set too lean at idle it will die when you come off the throttle. See if your smog guy will hook a CO tester up to the engine and adjust that idle mixture screw to 1.1% CO, then take it for a spin.
That little lever you mention is hooked to door flaps on both sides that control engine cooling. Leave that alone until you read up on it or you will cook the motor. |
