I'm searching for the post on the pros/cons of swapping to a Bus motor. I was going to use bigger jugs. I found a bus 1600 for $100 and think I can get a DP bug 1600 for $150. Is it worth the $50 extra? I'd rather find a 2.0 bus block if I go that route and save on the bore kits. I just think with the adapter and flywheel machining, it's cheaper overall to go with a bug motor.
Its more of a winter project that I'll build a glass body around next year. Ideally I'd go with a 2.0 bus and bus tranny, justy not finding what I want within the price range. |

not sure about swapping in late bus trans I swapped in a 71 bus trans (last year type 1 engine). Im sure it can be done easily, with the right mounts. the type 4 is longer heavier and sits lower (with stock cooling)
but you got to love the power :lol:
