| not a fan of those electric pumps. I just don't want the hassle of wiring them up, and just prefer the reliability of a mechanical pump. if an electric pump goes out, its GONE, and you are stuck (in a stock bug that is). A mechanical pump will slowly start to die usually, and starts leaking gas in to the oil. and being that i check my oil almost every other day, and i always smell it for gas, i'd prolly notice before anything catastrophic happened, lol. also i keep a spare pump in my emergency kit, so no worries. i also keep the right tools to swap a motor if need be (and i have, hahaha). |

| yes run a fuel pump no matter it is mechanical or electric. it is not a dirtbike or quad and needs one. after all how many other gas or diesel even cars do not have a fuel pump? although if you are in the middle of nowere and your pump quit and you could gravity feed the carb to get back to cilization right on. :) |
