Does anyone have any idea where to get parts for the EGR on the 1700 engine? I have an air leak in my exhaust system and I believe it's from a missing EGR system, does that make sense. Just bought the bus, I still don't have a copy of the Haynes manual for the 1700 engine, that might be helpful to clear up the confusion.

73 should not have egr. 74 Calif did....
What exactly is missing?
Where do you have an 'air leak' in your muffler?
The egr filter on the 74 mounts to the exhaust pipe, before the heater box.
If you have a 2 bolt flange on the left end of the muffler, you have a 411/412 muffler.
Use the Haynes for T.P. :))
Get the Bentley manual. They are on ebay all the time. Look for an early one, like 68 to 76. The 68- 79 one has a lot of fuel injection info that you don't need.

The air leak is not from the muffler, just replaced it. There is a hole (not a rusted out hole, it's meant to be there) about the size of a quarter just above the exhaust manifold. If you put your hand over the hole, the leaking air sound goes away and the engine quiets down considerably.
I have this afternoon off so I'm going to drive the bus down to a shop to see if I can get some free advice, I'll post what I find out.
