I've never been to Pegasus, but if you want an easy 1 3/4 hr drive west out I-80, then go to Valley VWs (aka The VW Store) just east of Hazelton PA. Stock and hi-po parts. Another VW store (mostly stock parts) is slightly south of Hartford CT in Berlin called BugCity.

Glenn might know of some on Long Island...

I thought there were some in the Philly area - Severno or something like that. Just found Acme Car Co http://acmecarco.com in the Harrisburg PA area. There was a real good tech that used to work at VW Store that is there now. Just ordered some parts on Monday - Came today. Price was good. Person I talked to seemed to know his stuff.

If you're in the south end near Philly, its easier to go over the Bridge to Savich's. Volkstech in Burlington stopped really carrying parts other than what they keep on hand for repairs. They're not really focused on being a retail Dub parts shop anymore.

Savich is in Landsdown, a section of Philadelphia. A while back there was Clarence's in NJ not too far from Philly. I think he may have moved his shop, though. It's been a while since I've been in that neck of the woods.

Clarence closed up a year or two ago. Savich is a good place for parts and service.

X2... I was just there today, and yesterday, and the day before, and last wednesday, and tomorrow. But you don't have to tell him Jeff sent you. He'll treat you well anyway!
Between my bug project and my Audi, they have everything I've ever asked for, and at better prices than just about anywhere else I've gotten parts.

What kind of parts does RPM in Stanhope stock? Mostly motor & suspension parts?, any body parts? How are his prices? Yea I know I could just call or go there myself but its nearly 11pm and I know he ain't open at this hour  , thanks.

They have a bunch of stuff... engine, suspension, gaskets, seals... pretty much everything. If they don't have it, He can usually get it within a day or two. I've never waited more than 2 days for parts from them.

FCS surprises me; they're very close to me and I've never heard of them.

73sports Fri Nov 06, 2009 2:39 pm

Yes, but while the Bus Depot can get you pretty much any VW part, they only stock bus parts, so unless you have a bus there really isn't a point ot stopping in there. I guess you could order a head of time, and then pick up when the parts arrive.

We get a fair number of Beetle owners who do just that. We do stock some of the most commonly needed Beetle-specific parts, not to mention lots of Bus parts that also fit Bugs (such as Type 1 engine parts). We can get most other Bug parts relatively quickly (often overnight). However, the more notice you give us, the better the chance that we can obtain a part from an alternate source if our usual go-to supplier is sold out.

You can order by phone or email, or you can order via our website and put "customer pickup" in both the ship-to address and checkout comments fields. In the comments field also indicate the desired pickup date, so we can contact you if an item can't be in by then. (It also can't hurt to call or email us shortly before you stop in just to make sure there weren't any unexpected supplier delays, especially if an item on your order is crucial.) Use the "I will mail a check or money order" payment option, and that way you can simply pay for your order in person when you pick it up.

I just spoke with Carl at FCS in Mount Holly. He is now doing mostly repair and restoration work and has some used parts (German).

I am headed there this Saturday to pick up a few parts I need. He's about 45-50 miles from me here at the NJ Shore. I will be pciking his brain and chewing the fat while I'm there too!

I also use Peek Performance in Seabrook, MD. If you order (phone) before the UPS guy shows, you get your stuff the next day.
