Problem is, anyone who does that fails to plan, and thus they plan to fail.
Once he gets in the bus, it sits perfectly level. 2 people up front and its raked with the nose down, and looks dumb. Like all buses do.
Raising the rear would only make this worse, and cause it to look retarded with people riding in front.
The plan at this point is to simply adjust the rear camber since its a mess. I do agree the rear could come up, but this would make those tires look even smaller, and hed need to lift the front to compensate for when there are people inside. That would make the front wheel gap so big when parked, it would suck.
Its a tough call, i know cause im going through it now with my panel. reductions are a pita and i cant really raise it without more lame positive camber. So i plan on leaving the rear and gaining height by using 700-15 yoko A720s, and then adding adjusters up front and raising the front an inch or 2. So when myself and anyone else are up front, it sits level, or slightly higher than the rear. I think this looks sick, and allows the bus some more wheelin capability.
Its damn capable now, but this will only help IMO. :)
Lovin georges micro at this point. I feel good knowing i found those tires for him after hours of searching. Cause he, like myself thought there were no options for 14" offroad tires. ohoh we were wrong. :) |

I would say make it level at least. yes it will rake down in the front when people are sitting up front, but more ground clearence is more ground clearence. also when wheeling you tend to ahve a lot of extra cargo weighing you bus down, and do you store it up front or in the back? how level will it be sitting then? I would say lift the front as much as possilb,e lift the back as much as possible, and then distribute loaded weight based on the rake.
if you are playing in the dirt, it is ground clearence that really helps, also traction, but thats a whole nother story. |

| i may turn the rear up a tad but not sure just yet. i have been thinking about it but due to the streetablity factor(i dont wanna get much higher have it lay over on me on the freeway sweeping turn) and other worn items that need replacing it will be sometime before addressing that. |

Call vw direct. Your local dealership should be closed down or at very least the dipshit GM fired.
This local one has an aircooled VW show for us on the first friday of every month, and they provide pizza and drinks.
They know how big the scene is and it helps them sell more cars. Win win IMO. 8) |

well its a monthly showing of local VW's so they clear out the front like every dealership should if they support the "crap" they sell. |

well its a monthly showing of local VW's so they clear out the front like every dealership should if they support the "crap" they sell. its ok if you dont like my bus, but didnt your parents teach you if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all.
no no no your not getting what i was saying, nothing wrong with your bus at all my friend, yours most likely will be nicer than mine someday, i was just saying the one time i dared to take my bus to a dealer to ask about parts (early days of bus ownership) they asked me if i could remove my pile from their lot as the yuppies where becoming on edge and were fearing being preyed upon by a vw bus owning freak...lol if you get my gist, trust me if you read some of my posts i'm the last person who will criticize someone for their bus or their decisions on it, lol
keep rocking it man, it's coming along nicely ;-) |
