| i have also finally decided to build my stroker! im going to use thick wall 92mm by 78.8 crank(makes 2095cc) and a web 119 cam. some nice heads from brothers and a set of 40mm carbies. i hope this will stay nice and cool and make some bamf powa! |

| I would have the thick wall 92s turned down on the case side to fit in a 90.5 bore case, to keep the strength in the stud holes so that the case doesn't start warping there and cost you your seal. That said, I am very jealous of your offroad area! |

well here it is i started a new thread for my engine build but this is the final decision. i have been wanting to try out 92mm thick walls(0.179" thickess cylinder wall avalible outside of full race items.) since i was told about them about a years or so ago and like the idea of them. this engine is for my bus which i take off road kinda like a baja but not as much wide open throttle straight aways. i do quite a bit of uphill crawling and still wanted to be able to drive it every day. so here is the list. :D ideas and recommendations welcome but please no arguing. :D i will also be putting a ZF diff in the bus and having it built up and going to bigger axles to handle this little monster. :bay_blue: \:D/ :vw:
new AS41 case
web 118 cam
SLR parkerized lifters
1:25 ratio scat rockers
40x35.5 dual spring oval ported heads 54cc or 52cc undecided yet comperssion in the 9-9.5 range high 7's dynamic
78mm forged crank
92mm thickwalls with case side turned to 90.5mm holes
5.5 h beam forged rods
traight cut cam gears
chromoly push rods
stainless tubes
mahle cam,crank and rod bearings
30mm pump (i am using external setrab cooler with stock cooler still installed and berg full flow)
carburation will becoming via some 40mm idf's tring to keep my port velocities high for some low speed torque goodness. |

with big tires, I think you are being a bit too ambitious with your compression ratio. even without big tires I would wince a bit. Keep the deck really tight, run the right cam, and open the heads a bit to make the CR sane. I don't know much about slug, er bug engines, I am a t4 convert, but your engine sure sounds fun.
ZF, lower gears, there are times I think the sandrail guys are idiots, forget 091, 002 trans are the ticket in my mind.
invite me out sometime, your side of town looks fun, hopefully I can keep up. |

| more than welcome to come check out the desert. :D 8) just avoid our july-ish time of year, hehehehe. i dont mind running top pump gas as i already do it and tune for it. these tire even thou they look large aren't much larger than stock bias plys that are intended for it, about 1/4-1/2' large in total tire hieght. and actually i think weigh less than bias would. :) |

God! That looks dangerous! I hope you wear your seatbelt and carry a first aid kit and a cell for emergencies. I would hate to see a memorial thread on you. That would be one hell of a roll down one of those hills if you lose it.
On another note, that looks like awsome fun. Great pics keep em coming. I would love to do that around here but, I can remember all the boards we carried and shovelling my Dad and Uncle use to do to get us unstuck from the mud in our old splitty when I was a kid. If you don't have a 4X4 and/or a friend with one, it would make for an extremely long day around here. And if your door seals aren't good you can get your feet and butt wet too.
The bus is looking great. Good luck on your tranny build.
PS: could you (or MM) please PM me Mighty Mouse's splitty thread url: I have looked for it through his posts but there are a lot. Thanx...
