| Anyone have a picture or a wiring schematic for the rear defrost regulator which sits under the back seat? I'm not talking about the regulator that is on the driver's heater channel, but the smaller relay on the rear pan. I removed it and can't find the picture I took for when the time comes to reconnect it. The caris a 69 type1 sedan. Thanks. |

In the technical wiring look at the supplement drawing for the next year and it shows a diagram for the window defogger.

I was lucky enough my wiring worked but the grid was shot, as most are.
I bought a $25 defrost fan, cut off the cig light plug and connected the wires to the grid wires, and it works with the original switch etc.
Works best for fog but does work at -20C, just slow.
It's a drain on a generator though at 10 amps which is about the same as the original grid. One reason they went to an alternator I think.
I plan to rewire mine with the heating element wired to the gen warning light so it cuts out at idle when the volts dip. The fan can keep running, just the element will cut out.
