That's because it is.

I drew what I own, but I have a version of everything out there... new westy, old westy, early transporter, late transporter, late hightop, riviera, baja bus, I even have some vanagon stuff.

I painted the wall mural for a little inspiration because, Like alot of things, my imagination moves faster than reality.

=D> Absolutely awesome. Count me in for a shirt or two.

If you do 1 bus, my vote would be for a Westy top down. I liked your brown shirt example. I also love the 4 frames, 4 bays idea.

Chaz - great work on the original drawings, too!

Yeah I'm so eager to see what he cooks up with his graphic design sorcery. I'm jonesin' for a 4-Bay tshirt! \:D/

OK, sounds like a 4-bay design is a must-see. I'll cook something up.

Early bay with small pop top! Those shirts look awesome I'd be interested in a couple.

chazz79 Sun Oct 25, 2009 11:49 am

I'm not afraid to admit I like vanagons too

It's hard trying to make a vanagon look like it's smiling at you... maybe that's the hidden lure of a bay. The rounder lines give more to work with.

Nice! I like 'em too. My wife and I even include them when we're playing "slug bus".

That rear wheel has some serious camber issues

Love your wheels. Are they off of an Audi?

lostorbit Mon Oct 26, 2009 10:34 am

I colored mine :)

2003 passat 15 inchers. They fit fine after grinding the center holes out 1/2inch larger. These things are cheap because people upgrade all the time. You'll find all kinds of better tires in 15's

Those shirts are awesome! However, I think it would look a bit better if the bus was positioned up a little higher. Anyone agree?!?

blue72beetle Mon Oct 26, 2009 12:51 pm

I colored it in too. Now it kinda-sorta looks like mine.

I agree with how this looks when you're looking at a flat, digital comp, but after printing many, many T-shirts, and working with professional shirt printers as well, this is the "right" position for making it look good when you're wearing it. If you put it any higher, then it has this strange effect of being right under your neck when the shirt is on a person.

But yeah, same idea. We are seeing the same thing. This does look a little low, but it comes out right.

Any progress on these? Do you think you'll be producing them?

Yessir! This weekend I cleaned out some old silk screens, got them ready for the new graphics. Today I'm setting up a re-seller account at a new shirt supplier. Will be picking out some colors, sizes and quantities and placing an order. I figure I'll probably run about 40 shirts, in a variety of sizes and colors, post the list of what's printed/available and go from there.

I guess I could take a poll.... what size and color would you want?

I would absolutely put a poll in this thread, that would be the best way to get peoples preferences!

Personally, I really like the blue, without the background filled in..this one:

Any luck on that 4-bays-in-a-square design?

It may also be a good idea to change the name of the thread, something like opinions on tee shirt design or something?

Keep in mind shrinkage!!!!!!! An XL will shrink to a L, a L will shrink to a M, a M will shrink to a S depending on the cotton/polyester content.

Two XL's in red please, Early Bay Westy  My son would love one, it would make a nice present to send him now that he's serving our country and will be in Afganistan soon...
