Quote: You don't have a Tester? (Multi-Meter)
Sure, it could be charging just fine, and the wire that tells the Idiot light to go off is not connected...and then it might not be charging at all...you can't just freakin' guess, you need that tool.
DEDUCTION.
Yea, Im real new to this. I will definitely pick one up. |

| If one of the electrical studs that you later covered with innertube was shorted, you may have fried the new Alternator. |

| It had a rubber boot over it the whole time, so it shouldnt have shorted after i pulled it out I hit myself in the head I totally forgot there was a boot over the connection. I was worried enough i puleed it to make sure, my memory caused me a bit of extra work but peice of mindd. I did however go to sears today and got a multimeter so I will be checking to see where its going wrong. |

Check that your blue wire is hooked up as VDUB TECH said. That is huge. If it's not the light won't go out and charging won't occur. That'd be an ass-kicker if that was the problem.
This is not that hard...something dumb and obvious is going wrong. If everything is hooked right and it's still not charging correctly I'd replace the Voltage regulator. You should have replaced both at the same time anyway. I don't do one without the other.
When you use the Multi meter..select a range that will cover between 10-20 volts or something like that. Touch red to +, black to - and watch the action. You should have the radio, lights, and wipers all on. It should hold at high 13's or low 14's. It will fluctuate a tenth of a volt in each direction, but should stay in the same ball park. |

Your were very right.
Thank you every one for your help.
I got the multi meter and started tracing the system, when i got to the regulator i decided to pull the three slot female end that plugs up to the underside and test the plug. While doing that i noticed there was no metal in side the slot, i pulled on the wire (green) that went inside and it pretty much fell out so i pushed it in and held it while re-attaching it to the regulator. Turned the key in the ignition and the battery light went out immediately. I took the multi meter back to the battery and it was charging I had it up in the mid 14's from a previous 11.4.
Thank you every one for all of your advice, i going to attempt to drive the bus to Jiu jitsu practice tonight. :) yay |
