Ive decided to jump into a T3 project thats been on my mind for quite some time. It will make a nice winter project and shouldnt cost to much money-mostly my time. I would much rather be restoring a nice early bay west or even finishing up a sweet T34 vert project, but I have to wait on those for the moment.

So my idle hands need something to do. Ive decided to give my 63 some much needed TLC it deserves. As most you know Ive driven the piss out of it since I got it. When It came to me on September 11th 2001 (yes the same day) it had 42,000 Km on the clock (26,000 miles) to now having almost 100,000Km!(61,515 miles). The cool part is I get to see it reach the 100k mark and treat her to some cool badges.

The miles have taken its toll as well as some other repairs along the way that were done prior to me owning her. So its time to spruce her up. Make her look like a less than 62,ooo mile car.

First Ill be striping down all the easy stuff to get to the body. Then Ill be cleaning and acessing some of the body work-needs to be redone in spots. Then Im going to clay bar-cut-wax and seal the paint and keep it up more so than I have. I need to redo the rims and maybe the bumpers. Ill be adding some accessories and removing some (mud flaps). Shes gona get dual horns, full circle horn ring, headlight rock guards and front and rear gravel guards.

So follow along, Im in no present rush. Maybe the interior material will be done soon and Ill fix the driver seat-or Ill replace it with the nice spare OG material I have?

Very cool Jason! Give her the TLC she deserves. You should put some black & yellow plates on it too..

Those CA 7 digit vanity plates are fun though! I had MINI PNL on my 67 RHD Austin MINI panel. 8)

That will be very cool. I enjoyed the video.

Nice Jason! can't wait to see it finished. Do another video when you get to the claybar/cut wax and when you seal the paint, as that's pretty useful and something most of us could probably do if we knew how. Sometimes the videos are just so much better than written instructions -- the lowering videos are proof of that... for better or worse...

Liked the video except for the last 15 seconds where you say you may pass it on to another caretaker! You are not selling are you???

What Gives? I have been motivated to completely restore my squareback watching you guys and now, one by one are flaking (except Bob of course).

No Im not selling this one-now. But in 20 years hell 10 who knows. I just want it to be in great shape then. Not all used up. To be honest I wanted to get this make over done to kinda kick some of you in the ass with nice cars that are hiding away, you Martin as well as Scott came to mind. Even Paul Colbert is getting his 63 T34 show on the road after a several year hiatus  just keepin the tourch burnin brother

More vids for you Skater!

I did find a problem with my fog lights. Aparently the ding dong (me) just twist tied the conections together  Then used shrink tube over that   No duh they wernt working all that great, I can only imagine the volt drop across those 6v connections.

In my case that's fair, but Martin's been making good progress on his Square.

I can't wait to get back to the Ghia but a more-than-full-time job + teaching + a house addition = no car time. The most I'm able to do these days is an occasional post on the blog no one reads, like the one I posted this morning about this very thread.

I mention it cuz I care. I cant wait to see what you have up your sleeve in the detail department. if the car is half as nice as the motor it will be one nice resto for sure. I love your blog too! more real T3 info is on there than anywhere. Kepp it going brother.

Good to see Jason.

And Scott- dont be so sure people aren't looking at your blog.

One item Ive always wanted to "redo" was the mud flaps. I have a spare set of sarge stripe nos ones but feel they are a little played out. So I will be installing the nos front rear gravel guards instead. Here are some shots of the rt flap removal.

Those look fine to me, so then going on another project?

Jason, I would also suggest you remove the wipers, as they are in the way for detailing. If you have not done it, be a good time to re-grease the wiper parts.

Looking good, and look forward to the updates. Good reminder of the good time we all had meeting up at the Mexican eatery and the after party at Dave's.

Thanks bro. We have been a bit lean on interesting forums as of late-Im glad you think mine is. Adriel-I just want a new look, not that the flaps are bad.

Ah, thought that is what you said. Now I see the pictures of the hardware, I see why Jimmy was able to make his own. Has gotten me thinking of a down the road project. All this loose gravel really does a number on the paint, but hey, why does that matter when I do not drive it?
