Picked up a really interesting 1970 bay camper yesturday and I keep finding little options. Here's the M-codes
02 133 826
507 513 514 517 518
523562 D26 097 119 181
07 2 7526 078 2310 21
It has a factory clock, belly pans, gas heater, rear hatch interior lock/release, transmission skid plate that I have found so far on the bus. Has a stock flat window on the drivers side middle. It sat in a driveway for the last 10 years as the owner was rebuilding the the motor. Interior has lots of road trip mods and some volvo front seats. Has the biggest custom front bumper I've ever seen on a bay. I bought it for some of the rare parts and the new motor as it has its far share of rust and needs some new rear corners. Now I'm seeing that it looks pretty complete and could be a project for someone. I saw a couple of euro stickers here and there so maybe a euro model? I'll post some pics here when I get time to resize. I'll post an ad for pics now.

We were just discussing those latches a few days ago here http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4151363#4151363

Interesting Euro bus Shawnhigh, we demand pics of the interior.

Ok, after reading that thread three times...(multi-topics going on there)

I gather this is the way they look on the outside? and it's NOT a VW part?

Still a great idea...

Nice hijack, that is a different latch again but likely could be used with the other one, double secure in and out. Go back another page for the latch in Shawnhighs bus.

Thank you! 8)

Maybe you could have used this link to the appropriate page? Damn if I was going to scroll thru the whole M-Code Plate thread...

You never said "go-back one page after you click on my link"...

Now, IIRC the topic is a bus with some unusual parts, how is posting about those parts off topic?

I just got done cleaning it out and found 6 old german solex carbs, 3 generators, bunch of tin, and probley 3 gaskets kits. The rear hatch outside lock looks the same as all the other campers I've got. It does also have a locking engine hatch as well. Full case of dead bootleg tapes from all across the county. Had 2 how to keep your vw alive that are nasty and a westfalia camper manual. The inside is not as modified as I thought, but the icebox sure ain't stock. Both tables look good and the zbed and cushions would probley clean up real nice. Best looking orginal floor i've seen. Looks like the Rogue Rivera's have a tear down project next week unless someone wants a big project and has the time and $. I still haven't figured out how to post pics in the forum but I took a couple more that I put in the classified. Its fun poking around in history but got to get the garage picked up. Can someone link up the pics to this? thanks

I get back in town on thursday and it looks like we might be pulling her apart. I'm going to try and run all the m-codes so I don't miss any thing and if I have time I might try to cut out the the belly pans as they look very similar to the ones on my 67 bus. That gas heater sure would be nice in our camper.

busdaddy Tue Oct 27, 2009 12:33 pm

Bay belly pans are longer than split, save the hassle and get the Klassicfab ones.

PapaSmurf73 Wed Oct 28, 2009 7:46 pm

Looks like a rare beast indeed. Looking forward to a Rogue Riviera tear down this weekend!
