Do not wait long !!! Others may spot it too and not wait on the snow to be gone. We are some sneakey people when it comes to rails. |

I bought this on eBay, then had a trucking company pick it up and take it to Jacksonville, FL to be shipped to St. Thomas. In the meantime the guy sent me the title which turned out to have never been notarized. I had to track down the original owner. In the meantime the shipping company said I owed storage, and I said... well... I won't repeat what I said. I decided it was a lost cause and wasn't worth the $$$. A year and a half later the shipping company's office in St. Thomas calls and says "Sir we have your dune buggy here, come pick it up". Amazing huh? It sat for a year and a half getting rained in, so I am building a 2332 with dual 48's. Going to be a hill climber. We have a lot of hills here in the Virgin Islands. I love the wide front end- looks like a cat about to pounce. We call it the "Doom Buggy" or the "Buggy of Doom." :D The Baja Bug is called the "Battle Bug." The buggy is a 1984 Sand Toy. It's very small. If you are over 5'9" your head hits the rails, and the seats are so close together you can't even set a coke can between them. I love it, but I still have to get a windscreen, wipers, and lights put in before I can register it. It is going to have 1959 Cadillac tail lights. |

Brand new owner here. Thought I'd post a pic of the newest addition to my toybox.
Built from a Warrior knock down kit. Still needs wheels, tires, shocks, brake work and a few minor things to get ready for street duty.

One of our cars (not a VW, haven't put it on here) was nicknamed the exact same thing by a passenger when we took it on a track day.
He was a little amused by us still catching his car up, whilst sideways down half of the pit straight  |

bought this one for $5500. everything looked brand new. it looked like a show buggy. it has a 2332cc engine in it and a bus trans and low gearing and it hauls some serious tail.
the day we brought it home
this is the most recent pic. major changes are an "oh shit" handle, tool box/cooler, and FOA shocks.

im pretty happy with them for the price we payed. the shocks that were on there had WAY too much rebound dampening.
they were helpful in helping me determine what kind of valving i needed and had no problem making the hoses custom length. |

| Nice $5,500 purchase. Thats what I paid for mine but pickns are much slimmer on this side of the continent. I wish I had half the parts you got :) But still happy with mine. |

i agree, i dont think you could build this chassis OR the engine for $5500
the catch is we bought it broken. it had a nasty miss one or more cylinders clearly wasnt firing but we couldnt hear any knocking so we figured the issue wasnt mechanical and would be a simple fix.
we were wrong. but, it was an easy fix.
we got it home and popped the right valve cover off and two nuts fell into our hands. the nuts that held the rocker shaft on had stripped off!! we replaced the studs and nuts and it was good as new! so lucky. |

This is a berrien 290 that I had for the last year just sold it about 2 weeks ago
And this is the beeline 103" that replaced it, currently under the knife for a rewire, all braided lines, and a tree bar setup. Beadlocks in the mail as we speak

Here's mine, pretty she ain't!!! , but we are working on that. I have no idea mfgr of frame (maybe someone does)? First registered in '75, yep street legal. Has many issues that have been fixed/will be fixed, a work in progress..We all know about the "Previous Owner Syndrome"---"POS"...
She has reduction boxes in the a$$ end, so she's not a speed demon, but can crawl over some difficult terrain EASILY...and with the rgb's on the street, the a$$ end lifts on acceleration, thus named FROGGY.

Here they are: the FunBuggy and Meyers Manx Dune Buggy, the rail is an old Chenowth with a 1641, not street legal, and it's fun, fun, fun; the Dune buggy...had it since 1975...sometimes it's hard to figure out which toy to play with...
