Has anyone ever used a "motorcycle" handlebar switch unit on a street driven sandrail? horn/hi/low beam/turn left and right
waterproof
compact
"all in one"
Thanks

I have not, but I don't see why not. The only draw back I see is if you attach it to a steering wheel with a multiple turn steering box/rack.

Someone on here did that, he mounted it next to his shifter. I can't remember the build thread or I'd link you some pics. All it takes is a little wiring and you're good.

I was thinking more of it being conventionally mounted on a "L" shaped tube welded to the dash bar...the switches would be to the left of the steering shaft in the approx. position of a standard turn signal lever.
You can get used units cheap and I like the idea of visually minimizing wire "destinations" in an open chassis car.

CUOG,
Down by the shifter is an even better idea to minimize visual wire "runs"
Thanks !

Great idea!!!! I'm going to be rewiring my rail this winter and this would clean up a ton of switches and wire.

Sounds like a smart idea. Just make sure you get a switch from a new enough model that all you have to do is push in on the swith to reset the blinker. Makes the reset much nicer
