Finally found a use for that strange storage spot up top in the back of my 'Adventurewagen'.

Happy Halloween!
Be safe and have fun this Saturday!

PS: Don't worry, there are holes in the sides of the pumpkin that the bungees go through. I'm using 2 touch-light things inside. Should be quite a sight at night!

I'll post a night pic when I can, just carved and mounted a few minutes ago.

I love your pumpkin...

When you say "strange storage space" does that mean you don't like putting a spare tire up there?

Ooh... Hadn't thought of that! Spare is on the nose right now, but I'd rather pull it off, fill in the huge mount holes, and get a nice VW emblem.

In time. And then I'll have another use for that space!

I like that!

That is amazing!

Well, it was fun while it lasted... Some friendly person tore it off of my roof and smashed it last night in the parking lot of the bar I frequent to play darts.

Didn't even have it for a whole day.

...Half tempted to get another one tomorrow and carve it up and mount it again. Mean people suck.

Go to Dollar Store, get a plastic pumpkin, wire lite inside for a third brakelight. Better luck next time around!

Ooooh, I like the wiring the third brake light idea!

Wrap it in razor wire and let them try again.

Already got a new pumpkin and carved it up for replacement. LED touch-light this time, bright as hell (brighter than my tail lights for sure).

I'll just keep the pumpkin in the bus if I park it in darker areas... Still can't believe it, guess I'm used to my hometown where you could leave just about anything out just about anywhere and it'll still be there after a week or longer. The place I shoot darts at is just outside of town, apparently things can get crazy when I leave my little corner of the world.

EDIT: razor wire would kinda add to the whole Halloween look/feel... hmmm... 8)

Round 2 (Bring it on, Pumpkin-Smashers!!!)
...Actually, wait until I find some razor wire 'decoration'...

I liked the first one so tried to do pretty much the same thing. If it's close enough to the original I might confuse the living daylights out of some immature bastard (if they remember tossing the old one).

What gets me too is that they would have had to stand on my rear bumper to get at the old first one... The rear bumper needs work (especially where it mounts), and I'm sure having some douche climb up on it doesn't help.

Awesome looking pumpkin!

It doesn't matter where you live or how lit up your neighborhood is these days. Kids will always smash the pumpkins. I don't understand the appeal :?

True... That thing was pretty secured though, they actually would have had to work to get it off of there!

It's so odd though... I went out to warm her up, couldn't have been running for more than 5 min until I came back and it was in pieces. I turned the bus off at that point and went back in and had some chilled maker's mark. I was bummed! I was so proud of that thing! Everyone there loved it too! Unfortunately I was parked just outside of the surveillance camera's field of view (bartender offered to pull the tapes for me in case it was someone from the bar). I cleaned up the shattered pieces myself. Oh the horror!

Needless to say my shooting abilities with darts went downhill drastically after the chilled maker's mark.

Maybe they were hiding in the bushes waiting. Maybe they tried to steal the bus but couldn't figure out reverse!

Yeah I'm amazed they went for a secured pumpkin, they're usually pretty lazy, haha. Maybe it's cause you gave them a challenge. ;)

Did they leave the bungee cords?

Yes actually. Used them for my second one today.

Its cause it makes a neat 'squoosh' sound and breaks into a bunch of pumpkiny goodness. Its irresistible!

Perhaps it was someone on the other team you were playing against?

Very cool idea, pumpkins are cheap.
