| Does anyone have any links to a sandrail build that is geared towards on the road handling? I have a nice new Berrien Cruiser sandrail that would be sweet with some 16x10's and some wide rubber. Moon disc wheels, 4-wheel disc brakes etc. Anyone? Anyone? |

| if im not mistaken, i think Mendeola builds a bolt in front end for the vw chasis that makes it handle like a slot car. from what i read, it greatly improves handling and gives it more of a race car performance. maybe you can get some ideas from their build. there was a big write up about it in HOT VWs last year. double a arms, rack and pinion , stout coil overs.... very nice looking set up. mendeola builds transmissions but are expanding their product line.... |

It really a simple concept,
Keep your center of gravity low, good shocks, shoot for 50-50 weight distribution without adding any extra weight.
Tune your suspension for the driving style, some of the formula vee guys can probably help you with that or road race course guys.
It amazing what some camber and caster changes can do for a rail even in the sand. If a guy knows what he is doing he can make a huge difference in how a VW handles, and it will be safer to drive as a bonus. |

| Thanks for the replies! I know how to make one handle as good as possible, what I want is to see one that is already done and how well it does in the real world! Any links to a build? |
