When flat towing without an engine the main shaft goes into a high speed wobble and not only ruins the seal but main shaft may also not be there when you get where your going, happened to me.

itty bitty update: Not too much going on right now on the single, just cleaned it out real good ( 1 full 5 gallon bucket of rust flakes from the treasure chest, prob 10lbs?.... fun...)

Been gathering parts from various samba sellers/friends:
Emblem
brake parts
whole basket of interior parts that were og from the truck, Thanks boop!
safaris
doors and glass

Working on getting:
rear bumper
irs tranny install kit
flipped and dipped spindles
sandblasting rims, have 4 May of 59 rims
repair metal, doesnt need much, just the area between front and rear bumpers should do...

Hey Kaleb, you probably dont remember me but i was there when you got the truck and i was watching your progress and i havent seen any updates. I was wondering how its going or if its done yet ???

I wish I had some sweet update story...
Im in the process of buying the irs kit right now so shes a roller again, traded the tranny. Need it to roll soon as I have been looking for a house to buy, so all the extra funding has gone towards a down-payment-fund. I have been collecting parts from here to there, so when the time comes, Its On!!

Funny that you found this thread and updated it.

Had a busy summer, had to sell some busses to buy a house and then had to put my time into my little 65 bug. The scab is still awaiting my loving, soon.

This winter

Glad you are finally getting around to it, a SC is at the top of my wishlist too, since I sold my '62 a couple years ago and regretted it ever since.
