I have a Zenith 32 NDIX carb and I need to have it rebuilt. I cant find a kit any where with a accell pump and float in it. Does anyone know where I can get a overhaul kit? I have done internet searches and have found only the minor kit which is part number CPR198252. It does not have the pump or the float. I need all if it so I can make this as good as new.

thanks for any help you can give me.

Email Art Thraen at ACE in Utah, he recently sold me a rebuilt 32NDIX, so I assume he has parts available. The carb kits on Ebay are expensive IIRC, like $50 or something, so don't expect discount prices. Also:

http://www.stoddard.com/shop/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=47&cat=Carburetor+Kits+%26+Misc%2E

09 616-100-823-00 Float, 2 req'd. Fits Zenith 32NDIX. $62.82

11 616-100-850-00 Accelerator pump, included in rebuild kit, 2 req'd. Fits Zenith 32NDIX. $25.20

Stoddard stocks a lot of vintage Porsche stuff (32NDIX are OEM on 356's)
Good Luck!

Thanks I will try the kit, I may not need the float. THe carb leaks gas sitting and fouls the plugs. The engine has been sitting on the in a box for years complete and new. I got it after it had 12 laps on it at a formula v race. The guy lost a motor and use this one just to get him some points. Carb was used and sit for a long time. Now the plugs gets wet and gas is leaking on the engine. But once you get it started it runs.

SO this is why I am rebuilding it.

I had the same issue with my zenith. Gas was pouring down in the intake manifold and dripping out and into the engine.

A good cleaning got the float needle working right and it sealed up. I didnt end up needing any rebuild kit not even the smaller one. Just gaskets. Might want to just take it apart and give it a once through before going with the higher end rebuild kit with the pump and the float unless you know those are faulty.

PS Those "2 required" quantities might be for the dual carbs on a 356, so check into it.

Good Luck!

A cheep fix may be to flat sand the mating surfaces with some wet/dry papper.

remeber these carbs have been around for a long time and I'm sure more then one gorilla has had his hands on it !

I have a few zeniths myself and they all needed a little touch up .

I have had a zenith on my rail for ten years and had only one problem....acc pump...changed it and it ran like a clock again. If i remember, there are two different lengths on acc pump so make sure you get correct length.
