There is a two pieces of metal on my some-what stock pan that I'm trying to identify. There is one on each side and they protrude out about three inches approx. three inches from the rear torsion housing. It looks like it might be there to add rigidity to the pan and or the body but I'm unsure. Can I remove them?

it would be better to add some pics or make it a little clearer what you're trying to describe.

sounds almost like someone added some metal to brace the rear torsion housing per the baja book. probably ok to remove them.

Probably points where you insert JACK (for tire changes)....... Are they basically a square tube...

I currently don't have any pics... I'll try and get some. However these are stock pieces. If you were to have the body on they would stick out in front of the rear wheel. They might be for the running boards. They are almost square in shape and they are spot welded to the pan.

the danglehanger 1/2 of the way between the back of the door and the tire is a jack point.

Stock jack ports.

DUH! I hate when I ask a question and the answer is so obvious. Good thing I don't have access to a computer when I drink.

Thanks guys
