Starting covering the inside of the bus with new panels this weekend and thought I would post some pics so others on the site can get some more ideas as to how to dress up the inside of a bus that had no panels. Here they are.

This pic shows the panel for the slider. We used 1/8" masonite and covered it using felt applied with #90 3M adhesive spray. I think it came out pretty sweet.

This picture is of the masonite without the felt on it. The headliner piece is installed but the side piece and the piece covering the NWT wall is just put into place. I haven't screwed them down yet as I will have to remove them and trim the edges so the felt can overlap the backside of the masonite.

This picture shows where the NWT wall and the side meet along with the floor. Again, they are not screwed in yet.

Wow, that looks great, cannot wait to see it completed!

Hey, thanks! Just so you know, my inspiration came from magnus0328. He was kind enough to email me a ton of pictures quite some time ago. I basically took his idea and applied it to the panels. The panels are a bitch to measure and cut. The only way I could get it done is to have a good friend of mine help me. It's a matter of two people looking at a situation and coming up with the plan of attack. There are a few areas that won't receive panels but the felt will be applied to those areas to dress it off like magnus0328 did to his bus. I think magnus has done a great job to his bus and I love what he did to the engine tin to make his motor look cool. Come spring, this baby is going to roll to Harwinton and Terryville.

Just a little update on the interior panels installed this weekend. I also built some benches as well. You will understand the benches better when I build the platform that goes in between the two benches to make a full bed in that area. The felt bunched up in the back on the last picture will be glued to the steel area that I couldn't panel.

Man, that looks nice. That looks like an easier way to do the headliner. I like the way that you did the masonite headliner panels, versus each section like I did. Keep it up and more pics 8)

Your interior looks very nice and clean. I like the idea of the two benches. How did you secure them down?

Sawsalesman Mon Dec 21, 2009 5:43 am

Underdogrides,

I haven't bolted the benches down yet. I still have some more work to do on the back bench. I'm building a backrest for that bench that will fold down onto the bench. It will be a few weeks until I get the new foam covered in fabric. I will post some pictures of the interior with the benches as seats and with the cushions in place for the bed. As you can tell, I don't plan on using this bus to the extent that I need a sink or fridge. It will be nothing more than a vessel to sleep in. I can always cook on a grill and throw the cooler in for food and adult beverages.

jimhendrixx,

I bought the paint from www.paintforcars.com and it is their Candy Apple Red. It's certaintly bright but when the bumpers and wheels are painted in white it should tone it down a bit.

Looks good! Nice work! How are you going to finish the rear corners by the rear hatch?

El Chorizo Mon Dec 21, 2009 4:10 pm

Really nice job! Keep it up! 8)

I should read better!!

TRN9,

The bunched up felt is attached to the last 3 panels, top, and both side panels and will be glued up when the weather isn't so damn cold! I plan to have the rear bench backrest installed this weekend along with the spacer board between the two benches for the bed. I will post more pics when those items are done and the foam is cut.
