| I am fixing up a 71 bay window bus and the damn side slider door is hung up on something... the latch is stuck. any ideas.. |

Welcome, if you roll your mouse over the forums tab along the top of the page a dropdown menu appears and one of the items is a feature called search, here's what I got when I searched sliding AND stuck (click here)
You likely aren't the first one with this issue.
Which latch is stuck? Does the handle turn? Sure the outer handle isn't locked? |

BusDaddy is correct. There are many posts on it.
On the sliding doors I've had the lock mechanism is not setup to be the same inside and out. This means if you lock it from the outside you have to unlock it from the outside. If you lock it from the inside you have to unlock it from the inside. Maybe a good place to start is here and read up on the year you bought:

when I got the bus they said that the door isn't on the sliders... however it is latched. I unlocked it from the inside and the handle turns however it is not disengaging. I am reluctant to be to powerful with the door because I dont want to cause more harm than good.
I appreciate the advise! |

| You know you have to push the handle forward if you are inside or down if you are outside to unlatch a 71 door, right? |
