| my bug stalls out when i give it gas almost like its flooding out. i cleaned and adjusted the carb and adjusted my valves and timing to make sure it had nothing to do with that and it runs great it just stalls when i give it some gas to start it out so now the only way i can really get it started it to carfully rev it up before i go. i think it might still have something to do with the carb but i figured i would get a few more oppinions. im also getting the occasional pop out of the carb like its running lean but i richened it up and it still does it. |

| If it will hold a high rpms when you ease it up then you must be getting enough gas. I would guess it is your accellerator pump. With the engine not running ,look into the carb as you advance the throtle and see if any gas is being squirted into the carb. If not, the accellerator pump is not working. If it is squirting fuel, I would check your dist. advance next. Suck on the vacumn hose going to the dist. diaphram and see if the plate your points are mounted on turns slightly. |
