| I have searched the archives and stll I cannot figure out if i can run a mild cam that will still work with the factory (L- jet?) F.I. I have come accross a C-25 scat cam and the scat lifters w/the holes on the ends!! I was told that this cam is one step above stock. I have the engine all apart with new Mahle p/c's all new bearings standard size. I'm planning on building this with bone stock C/R. Any advice is very appreciated. Thanks Mike |

Consider a cam from Raby (type4store). He sells it as a "valvetrain kit" which includes various improvements which you will want anyway, such as improved rocker studs and parkerized lifters.
If you are installing a performance cam, even a mild one, you will also want to bump the compression ratio just a bit for best results. |

The only two "mild" cams I know of that work with Ljet are the Raby 9550 and the Webcam 73. Thats it.
You can look up the specs on the Webcam at Webcam to see how it compares to this scat cam.
There was somebody here who installed a "Torque Special" cam and couldn't get it to work so they pulled the engine apart to replace it. |

the web 73 is good with stock injection, this cam that we offer is based on a web 73 with a bit more exhaust duration. we use it with stock injection, as long as the components are good and you are able to properly set up the engine tune.

| Jakes kit (although very impressive #8000) looks to be for the hydo engine and not solid lifter engine like the one for my '77? Does his kit come with matching cam and crank geers? Mike |

| whatever cam you choose, use the lifters recommended or specified by the cam grinder. |

| When you order a cam kit from Jake he will choose the cam, there really is no difference in your engine and the 78/79 version except the hydro's. There is a cam gear with the kit, I know this cause I have gotten several kits from him, just use your current crank gear. |

Nothing I sell is for hydro lifters.
My 9550 uses a web 73 intake profile with more exhaust duration and an altered lobe separation to increase performance where a Bus really needs it. That's how I make engines run so cool.
See the camshaft presentation for a thorough understanding of what we offer and why.
Many sellers of cams don't build engines or have never degreed a camshaft.. |
