I can't find it anywhere. I am installing a taco plate and want to replace the seal while I'm there. Is there an alternative I can get at a FLAPS or something?

The dealership doesn't have it? and there are a few suppliers here on thesamba but time might be an issue.

A FLAPS may have it, as might a bearing house, or a place that specializes in o-rings and seals. If it can't be found locally it is certainly available from many online dealers.

Buy yours from German Supply. He has the good orange ones.

Cool, I called a local VW place and explained to them what I needed but when I got there they handed me the gasket for the oil screen instead :?

I heard that Bus Boys has them but couldn't find it on their site. I'll try German Supply. Thanks!

The Bus Boys one is too thin and leaks badly. Get the one from from German Supply Randy linked to above.

Yep. Black and leaky. It gave me fits. I tried to remount it three times, which of course requires draining all your oil. Finally saw Scott's and gave it a try and it sealed first time, no issues.
