I am lowering a buddies 68 beetle but I am trying to put the drum and bearings on the drop spindle but the back bearing won't slide on the shaft after a certain point. I don't remember having any issue with mine. I forgot if there was a different size bearing for the drop spindle conversion  Thanks!!!
Also, they a balljoint drum brake drop spindles. |

There are two different sized inner bearings from 66- 68 1/2 and 68 1/2 and later. You probably have the early inner bearings and the new spindles are the later size. |

| What make are the spindles? Some of the empi ones you have to smooth the part where the bearing rides to make it fit right. |

| Not sure, didn't see a stamp on them. I rub them down with emory cloth but looks like alot need to be sanded according to where the bearing left a notch in the spindle. Thanks. |
