So, I tested out the throttle linkage adjustment on my 1972 Standard 1600 DP. (Original engine BTW!) And I found this:
It looks like an adjustment screw head is rubbing on the alternator, preventing me from fully achieving "True Full Throttle". So I put some grease on it, and my throttle doesn't stick "WOT" anymore. Just how much throttle am I losing here?

That's because the 34PICT-3 carb has the wrong accel pump linkage.

| Can I loosen the nut and turn the linkage in a manner that will allow it to work with the alternator? Do you mean "Wrong linkage" as in "Unable to be repaired, new linkage required?" |

You need to replace the linkage with the correct.
I've seen people grind the alternator so they clear also. |

| I will probably end up grinding the alternator to fit. Bummer. |

| Er...cant' you take the nut off the shaft, and flip the linkage up-side down? Isn't that the point of that diagram? |
