| I am putting my engine back together and can't seem to get the intake manifold bolted back onto the heads. I put an "o" gasket that seems like it is copper and cork into the opening in the head with the seam facing up. But, when I slid the bracket down that bolts on, there is not enough room on the studs to get the nut on. So, it seems like it is just too high with the gasket on there and everything. What could I be doing wrong? Thanks! |

What engine?
I'm guessing a type 4?

CC, DD, or EE in the picture? The gaskets are for different years.
Hope that helps, unless you got new or rebuilt heads, then the studs may be too short.
Could be a single port head???? |

| First off, what are you working on? There are actually more intake manifold gaskets that have been used over the years than shown in airic's link. Don't know the application but some of the phenolic gaskets are thicker than others and require longer studs. |
