You should have the fiberglass parts to mark where you will need to cut. I cut my rear a little short for the fenders I was going to mount. It bugs me to this day. The nose isn't a perfect fit so keep that in mind. Measure twice... cut once... and then trim trim trim.

I didn't cut my trunk like Hibbard shows with the early model beetle. I was able to keep the access panels for the steering box and shift rod and the VIN tag. Glassed the gap closed.

Has anyone found a good method for lining up the edge where the front fiberglass meets the metal?

I am concerned about water leaking into the trunk where the break is between metal and fiberglass.

I tried over lapping the metal but it doesn't look very good.

If yer planning on taking it off road you'll be doing a lot of cutting and trimming......

ya thats a given im talking the fiberglass not the body im saying i want ready to bolt on (rtb) fiberglass

ready to bolt on is a lie, all fiberglass hoods require a little trimming to fit the curve of the front part of the hood beneath the windshield in my experience. it seems to be different for different years

how about the fenders?

vw@cfrscca.org Sat Nov 07, 2009 3:49 pm

I don't think anyone sells pre-drilled fenders
