Well i started another project! Its a 71 baja,i am planning on long traveling it every where, im going to do a-arms on the front as well i want to do 3x3 but i just picked up 2x3 so i guess they will do .thisproject is going to be slow-ish because of money flow, cause im only 15.

So today i picked up some BA 2x3 traling arms, they mount up really weird, and i had to use swing axle torsion bars to do it, ill post pics later tomorrow of them, they got a dual shock mount as well.

They body is off at the moment, and it has a roll cage in it that im just going to add to, im going to be using 1 1/2 .120 wall tubing. until i get money to get disk brakes on the front ill be using my drums on the a-arms. But itll be fun!! Im trying to sell my dunebuggy right now to fund this project, but i have enough to start now.

Pics to come!!!

Is it ok to run a bus cv to a t1 cv??? And what are the things that bolt threw your brake backing plate threw to the trailing arm, and there a 4 bolt square thing??

Bajabro Tue Nov 03, 2009 3:51 pm

No one knows if it is ok to go bus cv on tire end of axle to t1 cv on transmisson end of axle???

And what is this called?? Its a buss one, i need new gaskets and a need a new one.

I think those are called bearing covers. Ask for a axle seal kit. i believe they are the same from swing axle to IRS.

Bajabro Tue Nov 03, 2009 4:00 pm

They are the same, except if you have bus stub axles then you have to get the bus ones. But ill see if i can look up some bearing covers thanks.

My camera was being really retarded, so im sorry for the blurry pics.

Bajabro Thu Nov 05, 2009 5:24 pm

is it ok to keep the frame head, and put the a-arms in front of it, cause i dont feel like cuting it, just in case.

Bajabro Thu Nov 05, 2009 7:45 pm

I honestly think i did something wrong while putting it togeter but who knows, butt i did manage to make it lowered, so now i have to take the trailing arm off of the spring plate to re-index it. whoop de do!

Bajabro Fri Nov 06, 2009 6:31 am

And Yes, i am going to leave it purple, all my freinds think it is cool going purple and black scheme, so less work for me, haha

Bajabro Fri Nov 06, 2009 10:35 pm

All right, i got the other side done! Does it even matter if i have the seals on the trailing arm where the backing plate hooks up on both sides, cause there a real pain??

Il post pictures tomorrow, im going to try to get the body on so i can start working on the cage as well!

And i have to notch the spring plate to get it to sit right, cause they are custom made and they made them to big and i barelly get any ground clearence, only 11".

Bajabro Sat Nov 07, 2009 9:29 am

Im gonna try to get the body on today! And start working on tubing!!!

Bajabro Sat Nov 07, 2009 11:29 am

Okay, i notched the left side, and im getting about 12-12 1/2" out of it. It getting hot out now so im gonna stop for a bit.

But when i put the axle bolt on and tighten it, it doesnt allow the wheel or anything to spin, it doesnt do this on the other side though, any thoughts???

Bajabro Sat Nov 07, 2009 11:29 am

My bad i notched the right side not the left.

Bajabro Sat Nov 07, 2009 12:01 pm

No one knows what might be my problem???

HamburgerBrad Sat Nov 07, 2009 4:55 pm

is your cv joint binding? it won't want to turn if that's the case

Bajabro Sat Nov 07, 2009 10:29 pm

I dont even have a cv joint bolted to it yet, it looks like brake drum is hitting the backing plate, so i must have missed placed something in there.

HamburgerBrad Sun Nov 08, 2009 12:03 am

oh, axle nut, on the stub axle? you might have a spacer in backwards
