| For duning with a baja I wold be more interested with your Torque numbers. I'd go with a milder cam and big valve heads with stock porting. I put CNC ported heads on my 2110 and definately felt the loss in the lower rpm range. |

| I've done a 2275 single port with an FK-41 engle cam with OE style 1.25:1 rockers, 40x35.5 heads 8.5:1 compression and a single 40 kadron. It rocks! It revs to about 4500-5000 so it will last forever but the torque is unbelievable. I have a 002 bus IRS right now and there is nothing it won't climb. |

| So don't need a lot of hp just good torque? What should I keep my rpms at? |

is your bus trans stock, or close 3rd and 4th. a full body baja with paddles will perform better in the dunes with a 1600 and close ratio trans than with stock trans and a 2276. straight up the hills you will be in 2nd anyways so the 2276 will be faster, but through the dunes you will rarely get out of 2nd with stock ratios.
either way, build your engine for torque, not high rpm. |

not recommending against building a stroker! it's just that you will be wasting your time if you don't have a transmission build for it.
to pull 3rd gear you will have to rev the balls out of 2nd gear, which is a good way to ruin the fancy new 2276 you just built. also forget about ever pulling 4th gear with stock trans in the sand and a full bodied baja bug.. |

That depends on how much tranaxle you want to buy? :D
A nice combination is a 2276 with great heads, Engle 120 or FK 8 cam and Dual Webers. Last time I ws there I had a 2386 w / a W130 cam and
48 IDAs it was a blast but driving slow was a problem and since "I drove it like I stole it" the mildly built T-1 transaxle that held up great on the dragstrip lasted 2 days. |
