Because of the bow (flex) in the front windshield I had to use a 2nd pair of hands. My wife helped by keeping pressure on the outside. We started at the top and worked symmetrically around toward the bottom center.
We used some 300 pound test fishing line that was placed in the rubber groove all the way around. The length was centered at the bottom of the window and wrapped around to the top center and overlapped about 6 inches.
I dish-soaped the metal frame on the bus all around wherever the rubber would touch and slide against. Keeping moderate pressure on the window, my wife pressed (only so much so it wouldn't crack) until the rubber on the inside came to about 1/8" from the metal lip... just enough to pull on the fishing line and get the rubber started over the lip. Working our way slowly and methodically around.. left, right.. left, right... till we ended at bottom center. Done! |
