| I bought a '73 super beetle body that has the front end cut off just ahead of the windsheild. It's got good doors. a complete dash, all the glass and rear fenders and taillights. There is no pan on it. It's really pretty solid, besides the rear corners under the rear seat area. And there is some spray foam at the front of one of the heater channels. I was just wondering if I should just strip it and keep all the parts or if it's worth saving? Would anyone ever want to reweld another front end on? |

| JMO, probably worth more as parts than a project. |

| Really though should I just go ahead and start taking off all the usable parts? The shell will get hauled to the junkyard. It needs to be gone by this weekend. |

It may be worth saving. Really depends on the amount of body work it will need, and how much time and money you would be willing to spend making it complete again.
There are some new front quarter panel replacements in the market available for Super beetles from many vendors.

Got any pics of the front end so we can tell? |

Here's a couple pics as it sits
I also have a '75 standard 110 model that is going to the scrap yard once I pull the engine and tranny out. Is it worth saving the special rear quarter vent section's?

| The 110, yes, take the rear sections where the vents should be. That is a relatively rare car. Are the original door cards in it still and in good shape? If so, I'm interested. Do you have pics of them? |

| Ok i'll cut the whole rear vent section out. I had regular black vinyl door panels in it. The previous owner cut out the roof and the metal from the doors to make a custom trike. The car is pretty rusty though. Has the original FI engine but its stuck. I pulled pretty much any usable part so if you need anything let me know. |

| If I were you I'd take the engine out, even if it is stuck, and salvage any good FI parts, or the entire system, off of it. |

Poor '110..
Also try and see if you can remove the vent wing assemblies. They are the paintable versions instead of the polished style, and those vertical metal divider bars on them are hard to find.
As for the '73, it looks to be salvageable. But all depends on who wants to put new panels back on. It's all up to you. I agree with with frenchy and putting it up in the classifieds. |

Good call. I had to transfer my vent window assemblies when I changed a door over on my 110 this summer. I used to have black on one side, chrome on the other. |

That is really too bad.
That's a rare and interesting late model VW.
I'd pull the motor, and sell in complete with the FI, don't cut any wires.
If not for the 3000 miles between us, I would like to have bought the complete assembly. |

| I got the engine and tranny pulled. And cut out both the rear vent sections. And just pulled the wing window assemblys out. I will try to pull out the complete wiring harness. |
