What year is that off of? I am not sure if it matters, but I do have a couple of "parts" speedos around. I'll check when I get home and see if I have one.

I'm pretty sure it is a 1970 speedo (that is what my car is) but I'm not sure if it is the original speedo or not, I'm assuming it is

The input shaft and magnet? So did the magnet on yours pop off and won't stay attached now?
Yeah I think many years of speedometers can be used to source that part.
From my thread showing speedometer dismantling - this one is out of a 64 speedometer:

I've got one you can have. . .if you want to pm me. Otherwise . . .if you have any kind of Junkyard type place nearby with VW's in it -- that might be quicker and for like 10 bucks you could get all the spare speedo parts you need. (that was my experience here in Idaho anyway.)
