I took the advice of Ratwell and the rest of you and replaced the passenger tires the PO had put on, with Hankook RA08's from Bus Depot and can't believe how much better the ride is. The steering feels more controlled and has minimized the road noise and shudder I was getting with the old tires.

I had previously changed tie rods, steering dampner, and shocks hoping to cure some of these issues, but this seems to have made the largest difference. I think the psi range allowing me to run 30psi in front and 40psi in back has made a big difference too. Rides like a "new" bus. Expensive but worth it.

i had these tires on my 71, 78 , 82, and 87 buses. I just got a new-to-me 78 bus and guess whats already ordered? :)

bus depot has the best price around too.
