Those numbers are just the part number for the case have don't tell us anything. You need the serial number stamped in the case.
Are these swingaxle or IRS?

The "AH" is '69-'72 Bug. The "DC" is out of a type III. Both have the same 4.125 R&P gear.
The '71 & later T/O bearing uses the guide tube over the inpute shaft. If there is no guide tube then they are the 70 & earlier T/O bearing.
The Type III does not have the mounting holes in the bell housing. You can drill them in yourself. There might be a dimple where the hole needs to be drilled. You may also need to change the nose cone to match what you have in the car now.

The mounting holes are there, they just have aluminum plugs in them. All that needs to be done is to knock the plugs out.
The Type 3 hockey stick needs to be replaced with a Type 1 hockey stick. |

Look at the 3 shift rods. They have a slot in each of their ends. Take a screwdriver and pry the odd one so it aligns with the other two. You need all three slots to align.
Then insert the Type 1 hockey stick into the nose cone you will be using with the tip extending from it. Engage the tip into the slots and feed the nose cone onto the M7 studs. Install the nuts, 11 ftlbs. You do have a new gasket, don't you? |
