Hello,

I'm looking at purchasing 77-79 Westy or Riviera and have a question, should I end up with a Riviera. Can you install a swivel seat base from a Westy into a Riviera? My assumption is that it's been done before. Let me know!

Do you have an ice chest right behind there?

My wife has one of these so that her feet actually hit the floor.

Depends on whether it has bulkheads or furniture behind the seat, but even that can be remedied with a sawzall :P The swivel will fit any later bus, it's only what's around the seat that limits you.

I think the quick answer is no. I thought about it for my rig, but there were two main speedbumps:

The main obstacle would be the bulkhead, like busdaddy said; and a sawzall job usually needs alot of cleanup work to make it look good. Alot more than I am willing to tackle.

Secondly, the passenger seat on my '77 rivi doesn't adjust forward or back. I don't think the swivel will fit without welding on some new seat rails. Again, alot more than I am willing to tackle.

Anything is possible, as long as you have time, or skill, or a pile of $$$!

Good luck with your search!

doubt it the stove and the refrigerator would have to go along with the bulkhead, then there is the issue of room. Like wyomingriviera said the seat doesnt adjust on a rivi. I would measure a seat on a westy then measure one on a riviera, i would be happy to get you the dimensions off my 77 riviera if you do not have access. Also would need to be willing to dump/relocate the fridge/stove, and be good with a sawzall for the bulkhead removal.
