| i've removed the fan shroud and noticed some oil on the case by the oil cooler. i figure nows a good time to replace the seal ( if there is one) since everything is removed. the engine is still in the car. does any one know what parts i will need, and how do i go about removing the cooler. thanks for the help......scott |

matter of fact, there are two seals under the oil cooler. there is three nuts that hold it on. one towards the middle of the engine side and two under the other side by the cylinders. there are three types of seals. old style oil cooler, new style oil cooler and the conversion type from old to new style. would not hurt to do a little pressure test on the oil cooler while it is out to make sure there are no holes in it. |

| Even though his picture shows a later model doghouse type cooler, your 1968 cooler will mount onto the engine similarly, but the nuts will be 6mm thread, not 8mm. If you use a box 10mm wrench you should be able to remove the two nuts on the downward-pointing studs. |
