I redid the cabinets in my camper, and took the door apart on the fridge.
It's three pieces - a plywood plank, a gray rubber gasket that seals the fridge when it's closed, and a white plastic inner door filled with urethane foam.
There are small staples that go through the gasket and the white inner door into the plywood outer door. Is the order of the parts: gasket, inner door, plywood?
Or is the inner white plastic door inserted in the fold of the gasket. so the order of the parts is gasket, inner door, gasket, outer door.
It's easy to tell if you have a fridge to look at - if the white plastic is visible at the edge of the door it's under the gasket, if it's not, it's inside the gasket.
Any idea how to repair damage to the brittle white plastic of the fridge. I was thinking of gluing a sheet of thin styrene to it, but the glue will melt the foam.
Thanks,

Glue won't melt urethane foam, almost nothing will. Styrene foam on the other hand is very fragile, is it white puffy dots or yellowish sponge toffey? White is styrene.
The gasket goes on the door liner first and gets sandwiched between it and the door, lift the inner edge to access the fasteners. |

I tested the foam with contact cement and it doesn't melt so it must be urethane. I think I can blue a sheet of extra laminate on the back side of the inner panel and then put strips of softer styrene on the inner side to staple through.
Thanks for your advice.
