| I am debating keeping it for parts (but no storage space) or making it a driver and selling it. I will probably make it a driver and sell it and someone else can enjoy it and do the bodywork. I will get pics in a while. |

I've wondered what damage can come of this as its a common mistake.
Can you elaborate? |

| I dont think it would be possible as the trans would push against the gas tank but perhaps someone has done it. I would imagine the tank would be bad before the trans. Anyway, I noticed the carrier yesterday and it is Syncro. |

Well it has been done, the engine carrier bar was a 2wd short length which stuffed the trans rather tightly into the gas tank insulation luckily it wasn’t driven much like this it just sat under some pine trees here in northern Mass after the first owner passed and the next owner didn’t want to invest in a exhaust for this old van.
Here is the 2wd below with a Syncro carrier from the junk yard above it.
In the very top of the picture you can see the transmission a little bit.
Much of the ribs are gone from reactions with the tank and is going to need a new diff carrier section (hopefully one for a dif lock) however I have hear prolonged running with the wrong carrier bar will cause heavy wear on the driveshaft. (I heard that here) and I will try to get some better picks this weekend of the top of the transmission. I am currently at college at Umass Dartmouth. |

| I currently have a runner(in Wisconsin) that would love to receive some parts to become a syncro camper! |

This would make a good donor to make into a full camper!
