Hi, i hope anyone could help me finding out what i have..

I have fond a "what looks like a turnsignalswitch pre 1959" but it only has 2 modes

Its exaclty like the one for the turnsignals with the thin steelstrip around the steering column, is it maybe for diming the headlights?

I will post some photos tomorow

Kind regards
O

The conctions are marked:

(A) (41/35) (B)

(HELLA Logo)

(56)

That 56 A/B would mean it shold be used to the headlights???

Ok, as i suspected... Thanks for the reply

Does anyone have one in their car?'Is itt a factory option or aftermarket?
Does it replace the foot switch or is it used in addition?
Are they rare? Fist time i have ever seen one

Im very interested in pictures of one mounted in a car together with the indicatorswitch, the has to be a littlebit ofset from eachother, right?

I hope You understand whaty i mean in spit of some misspellings and gramatic faults, english is not my first language...

Kind Regards
O

Does anyone know how i can come in contact with Mr. Sowersby?

Or if anyone else has more information?
I would love to see more photos of how this switch is installed, maybe someone has instructions?

Kind Regards

Ola

Hi Ola,

I use the one shown in my car as an on/off switch for my fog lights. I don't know how you would wire it for high/low beam control. :?

OK.

I was curios about how You have installed it on the steering column, as it has the same type of steel band it should be mounted a little bit offset from the turn signal switch?
Or is there some special fasteners that are used?

I think I will solve it regarding wiring and everything, I just thought it would be fun to know how itīs "supposed to be"

Thanks!

Ola

Power comes into the switch at terminal 56 (white w/black) and goes to the low beams on terminal 56b (yellow) and the high beams on terminal 56a (white). All terminal numbering and wire color coding is the same on the floor mounted switch.

Mine is not exactly like yours. I have one strap for both housings. It also has two channel covers for the two sets of wires running down each side of the column. It was an accessory I got from Sweden. I have only seen one other one.
