Wondering if there is a recommended master cylinder to go with the 944 front calipers or if the stock one is up to it? Just prepping parts for my conversion and thought I should order a MC if needed.

Actually if you were to run a late 911(late 60s early 70s) master you would be down sizing because a late bay master is bigger than a 911 master. i am running 944 brakes all around on my 78 and it seems to work fine. it also has no booster. I dont know if a 73 bus has the same master as a 78, probably not, so if anything you should run a late bay master.

Perfect - thanks for the info. My master is starting to leak anyway, so I saw it as an opportunity. Too bad the German ones have all dried up and all that's left is TRW/Varga for Master Cyls now.

I thought that stock master cylinders will drag the rear brakes unless you install proportioning valves. Without proportioning valves you would need to source out a disc - disc master cylinder.
