i have a 1970 (VIN 2*02*2*4*8)(* = trying to hide some of the vin online) and engine number AF 1156178, is this the OG engine for this bus? it does have DP heads if that helps, thanks a million, lyle

Doesn't sound like it is the original. Are you sure it isn't AE instead of AF? AE is '71. Seems like a '70 is B6. Also '70 is single port. AE is DP. First year for DP.

i'm pretty sure its AF and not AE, I tripled checked, but since it looks to be hand stamped i could be wrong. here's my M-Code Tag

Why??? You realize there's absolutely NOTHING anyone can do with your VIN number correct? Same with your license plate number. Anyone on the street or in a parking lot can walk right up to your Bus and write down your VIN and your plate number. It's worthless information, and certainly nothing you should be worried about posting, especially since you already did.
