| I just got my first bug (73 super) about a year ago. Mine was in good condition when I got it so as a result I've had very little experience working on it (and therefore have little advice to give)...but welcome and good luck to you none the less. |

| Thank you for the responses. I was beginner to wonder if i should find another VW community or if I had perhaps said or done something wrong. I found out about the heads and since I run the entire commercial department of a local O'reilly auto parts, I get a massive discount on all my parts. I found a Fel Pro gasket kit to day for overhauling the entier motor and replacing all the gaskets when you do a rebuild for 7.00 bucks. I'm going to go ahead and get that to have some spare stuff laying around when I need it in the shop. |
