My chevy 4x4 does not have this much ground clearance
I bought a adjustable front beam and am probably going to need drop spindals also up front but my rear is way up there too. my rears look like the car was raised for a baja at one time.
My question is can someone point me in the right direction on understanding the inner clicks and outer clicks..I have read and read but can't find the understanding in this term..I have yet to try and remove anything from my rearend and maybe it will just be self explaining when I do but I like to read before taking on such a thing.
Oh ya..I have a swing rear with 2.0l fake fuch's..Tire size are 135's up front and 185 65/15's rear.
I must have 6-7 inches up front from the tire to the lip on the fender and the rear has about 5 inches..I have not messured them but thats about right. I can take photo's if it helps. Man this thing is up there. |

From what I understand (havent taken my rear suspension apart just yet) is that the splines on the torsion bars in the rear are different at each end. The outer ones seem to be a finer spline (more splines around the bar) than the inners. So 1 spline on the inner is not quite 2 on the outer. You use combinations of inner and outer to achieve your desired ride height.
A lot of people say that 1 inner is pretty close to 1 inch. 1 outer is not quite half an inch, give or take. |

watch the videos in this post. It should help you out. You have a swing axle though but the principle is the same. The adjustment might be the same as well but don;t quote me on that. Somebody else will chime in and confirm or deny.

That's a interesting vid..Very helpful if the principles are the same. Hopefully someone knows.
I would really like to se a closeup picture of the inner/outer splines. That would do me great justice. Or should I just dive in and go for it? What I don't want to do is mess it up and have to pay someone to fix what I have done...That would suck |
