Will be doing my T1 to T4 swap soon, so I want to know what purpose the spring serves.

Thanks in advance

Is that on Colin's engine?

That ghetto spring?

Do all Canadians not get sarcasm?

They are kin to the Aussie's, Kiwi's, and Brits. Has to be really off the wall ridiculous to make them laugh like - "does that spring work well? It is an interesting way to hold up an engine."

What is the 110 v looking plug at the battery for :?:

The second picture with the power cord in it isn't Colin's Bus or his engine.

This is random and off topic but does anyone have a better picture of that sticker on the fan shroud? I've been looking to replace mine and can't find a close up to what is actually is. Better yet does anyone know where I can get a replacement?

It tells you the specs for valve adjustment, it is blurry in the picture but I think it is for solid lifters.

Go under Funzone/Stickers and it is item #ZST-00104

Busdaddy in 3...2...1...

There's a few NOS ones in the classifieds but someone was reproducing them, I can't remember who at the moment. Check the usual suppliers I guess.

Samba to the rescue once again! I actually have Hydrolic lifters so I guess I don't need it. Thanks for the help though!

Then you'll need this:

The first photo is Colin's engine, which I now have.

The second is one of Klaussinator's engine.

Both were from the engine photos thread.

Anyway, will any spring of the same length do if I can get one from the hardware store? I might not be able to locate the one Colin had.

Yes, we all know you have the RW's engine...It was funny how you kept it a 'secret' for a couple days. :D

Any spring of the same length and tension will do the same thing, as the one in Colin's picture.

Colin and many others have driven with that factory set up spring a gazillion miles. What's your concern? :?
Unless your engine mounts etc are TRASH I suppose....

If the original spring has flown the coop...I set them up with a spring I find on the "HELP" rack at the local FLAPS chain stores. Works just fine.
